The Chickamauga Cherokee never signed a removal treaty. We have maintained our tribal government, our ceremonies, and our identity. We are pursuing state and federal reinstatement — not recognition of something new, but reinstatement of what was never legally taken.
State Reinstatement
Active engagement with Arkansas state legislature and governor's office.
Federal Reinstatement
Documentation and petition process underway with the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
