Upcoming Ceremony & Community Gathering

Green Tree Ceremony & Community Gathering

The Sovereign Chickamauga Cherokee Tribe invites all members, prospective members, family, and friends to attend our annual Green Tree Ceremony. Join us for a huge homemade breakfast at 9:00 AM, followed by a council meeting opening with the morning song, the lighting of the sacred fire, and history lessons taught by tribal members. Hands-on classes will include how to make dance shawls, a beading class, and a demonstration of how food was canned and preserved before food dehydrators. Chief Jim Davis will have out the drums and be singing throughout the day. All are welcome — we may even be joined by three of our fine state representatives. — Chief Jim Davis

We Are Actively Fighting for
State & Federal Reinstatement

The Sovereign Chickamauga Cherokee Tribe of Arkansas has been here since before Arkansas was a state. We have never left. We have never stopped being Cherokee. Today, we are actively pursuing both Arkansas state reinstatement and federal reinstatement — and we need your support to make it happen.

Arkansas State Reinstatement

Actively working with state legislators and officials. Letters of support from county judges and prosecuting attorneys are on file.

Federal Reinstatement

Pursuing federal reinstatement of the tribe — documenting our continuous presence, lineage, and tribal governance in Arkansas since 1808.

Wear the Movement

Carry Our Story.
Support Our Fight.

You don't have to be Cherokee to stand with us. Every person who wears this shirt becomes a visible part of our reinstatement effort — a walking statement that this tribe exists, that our people matter, and that history will not erase us.

Available in children's sizes and adult Small through 2XL, in a range of colors. Only $15.00 — no shipping charge — an easy, meaningful way to help support our tribe and our reinstatement fight.
